

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Amelia Urbano Coyne, 89, who passed on peacefully on December 3rd, at her residence surrounded by family. She was born on October 3rd, 1936, in Mendez, Cavite, Philippines, a daughter of the late Alfredo Urbano and Rosa Aure.
Amelia is survived by her husband of 53 years, John Coyne; three children, Simon (Jennifer Maiorano), Susie (Marwan Al-Habbal), and Ceasar (Valerie Gauthier) as well as Mark (Joy) and our beloved Mary; nine grandchildren, Roman, Lucas, Amina, William, Milo, Phoenix, Sam, Tom, and Maggie. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will profoundly miss her.
She was a parishioner and active member of St. Mary’s Church. She participated in various committees and clubs associated with the parish, organizing fundraisers and community projects. She was also a member of the Catholic Women’s League, the Legion of Mary, Cursillo, and the South Shore chapter of the Quebec Association of Retired Teachers. She worked as a home economics teacher in the Philippines for ten years and then over 25 years for the Montreal Catholic School Commission. Amelia (also known as Mely, Kaka Taba, Mom, and Grandma) will be remembered for her cheerfulness, generosity, and strength of character.
Visitation is from 1p.m.to 4 p.m and 5:30 p.m_to 9 p.m_ on December 16th, at Darche Funeral Home (7679 Taschereau, Brossard, Quebec J4Y 1A2).
Funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Church (125 Grove, Greenfield Park J4V 2X2) on Wednesday December 17th at 11a.m. All are welcome for a reception in the church hall following the mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Church or the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
