It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Aristides Cocolakis, on May 13, 2020, at the age of 88. Predeceased by his beloved wife Katina Cocolakis, née Barbantonakis, and cherished father of Voula (Simon), Costa and Flora (Evangelos). He will be dearly missed by his brother George (Marika), nine grandchildren Rhys (Ashley), Evan, Paul, Andre, Zachary, Katerina (Chris), Gregory (Olivia), Elefteria and Arista and his great grand-daughter Isla as well as his nieces Effie (Bill) and Koula. Predeceased by his parents Andreas, Paraskevi and Eftehia, and his sister Keti. Ari was born in Maroussi, Greece and married before coming to Montreal in 1958. He raised his children in Brossard, where he lived for 42 years. He worked with pride at Cantlie House and reminded us often that he had met Pierre Trudeau and many of the Montreal Canadiens, and until recently was able to name every member of the 1972 Habs team! With a love of life, Ari could never sit still, gardening, visiting friends and family, volunteering at the Hellenic Community Centre in St. Hubert and taking frequent trips back to his beloved Greece. He moved to Ontario to be closer to his daughters in 2017. He will be deeply missed by many. As Ari would tell you in his later years; "C'est la vie, that's life!"
Due to current restrictions, a private, family funeral will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Canadian Red Cross or Food Banks Canada.
