It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Beatrice Ann Duclos on June 25, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Ann was the beloved sister of Carol Louise Wiersma (Henk); devoted aunt to Jan, Andrew (Sara), and Karen (Greg); cherished great-aunt to Annabelle (Francis), Jakob, and Ethan (Maggie); and proud great-great-aunt to the youngest member of the family, Billie.
Born in Coaticook, Quebec, Ann moved to Montreal West with her family at the age of six. There, she grew up and formed many lifelong friendships, including with Helen (Ross), Cathy, Jane (Ross), and countless others who remained dear to her throughout her life.
Ann will be remembered for her kind and gentle heart, her unwavering optimism, and the genuine interest she took in the lives of those she loved. She had an extraordinary memory—never forgetting a birthday or an age—and always looked forward to hearing how her family and friends were doing. Her warmth, compassion, and cheerful spirit brought comfort, laughter, and joy to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff of The Renfort Foundation (Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu) for the care, kindness, and support they provided to Ann during her younger adult years. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Darlene, owner of Foyer Grove, Krista, Malalia, and the entire staff, whose compassion, patience, and unwavering dedication made Foyer Grove a true home for Ann in her later years.
A very special thank you goes to Christine (Gaétan), who became so much more than a friend. For many years, Christine was Ann’s “big sister” through the Big Sister program, sharing her time, love, laughter, and countless cherished moments. Your friendship enriched Ann’s life beyond measure, and your kindness will always be remembered with deep gratitude.
Ann’s family invites those who knew and loved her to celebrate her life by raising a toast in her memory and remembering the kindness and love she shared so freely. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to La Fondation Renfort in Saint-Jean-Sur- Richelieu or to the charity of your choice.
A private interment will take place at Mount Royal Cemetery at a later date, where Ann will be laid to rest with her beloved parents, sister, and brother-in-law.
