It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bryan Dudley Lutes at the age of 74 on July 3rd 2025 after a long illness. Born in Campbellton, New Brunswick, Bryan was the son of the late Rupert Lutes and Joyce McCosh.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of nearly 49 years, Louise Lutes (née Cormier), and their three loving daughters: Stephanie (Jean-François) and their children Alicia (18), Lucas (16), and Ellie (12); Kristine (Ryan) and their son Wyatt (9); and Carolyn (Josh).
Bryan will be deeply missed by his siblings Barry (Marion), Barb (the late Eddie), Kathy (John), and Rupert (Carol Ann), along with his many cherished nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family, and friends. His warmth, humour, and loyalty left a lasting impression on all who knew him. The many friendships he built over the years were a treasured part of his life.
From the age of 18, Bryan dedicated his career to Canadian National Railways, working in Campbellton and Moncton, New Brunswick, before spending his final 20 years at CN Headquarters in Montréal.
He was an avid golfer and a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. Above all, Bryan was a devoted family man whose love for his wife and daughters was immeasurable and unconditional.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Pierre Boucher Hospital and the CHUM.
The family will receive condoleances on Saturday, July 19th between 11 am and 3 pm. A ceremony to honour Bryan’s life will follow at 3pm. :
