Estelle Perks (Laframboise)

It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of Estelle Perks Laframboise, who left us peacefully in the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Charles-LeMoyne Hospital, at the age of 97.

Estelle was a woman of great kindness, immense strength, and vibrant spirit, whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, and dedicated her life to her family.

She had a true passion for life and found joy in dancing, singing, bowling, cooking, entertaining, gardening, and playing cards, just to name a few. She especially loved chocolate and enjoyed sipping a glass of red wine — her “tonic,” as she liked to call it — which she believed contributed to her longevity.

Estelle was a devoted mother and leaves behind her seven children: Gary (Evelyn), Denis (Donna), David (Connie), Carol (Larry), Richard (Suzie), Dale (Dean), and James (Christina); her grandchildren: Erin (Ian), Ryan (Nicole), Kathleen, Melanie (Joey), Stephanie (Paul), Sarah (Paul), Kevin (Ola), Daniel (Nicole), Tanya (Evan), Amanda (Charles), Adam, and Caleb; and her 21 great-grandchildren, who will carry her memory forward with love.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John “Johnny” Perks, her cherished granddaughter Kaitlin, and all of her six siblings who went before her.

The family wishes to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Charles-LeMoyne Hospital for their compassionate care during Estelle’s final hours. We also wish to sincerely thank the team and extended staff at Chartwell Residence in Greenfield Park for their dedication and wonderful care. Estelle truly loved living at Chartwell during the last six and a half years of her life. It became a place of joy for her — filled with music, laughter, friendship, and community. She especially enjoyed singing in the choir, playing the piano for other residents, and joining in the many celebrations that so often ended on the dance floor.

Estelle leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and faith.

Visitations will be held at La Maison Darche Funeral Services, located at 7679 Taschereau Blvd., Brossard, QC, J4Y 1A2, on Monday, February 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a service at 4:00 p.m. and a reception afterwards.

C’est avec une grande tristesse que notre famille annonce le décès de Madame Estelle Perks Laframboise, survenu paisiblement aux petites heures du matin, le mercredi 4 février 2026, à l’hôpital Charles-LeMoyne, à l’âge de 97 ans.

Estelle était une femme d’une grande bonté, d’une force impressionnante et d’un esprit lumineux. Sa présence manquera profondément à tous ceux et celles qui ont eu le privilège de la connaître et de l’aimer. Elle a été une épouse, une mère, une grand-maman, une arrière-grand-maman, une tante et une amie dévouée, et elle a consacré sa vie à sa famille.

Elle aimait la vie et elle en profitait pleinement. Elle trouvait du bonheur dans la danse, le chant, le bowling, la cuisine, recevoir à la maison, le jardinage et les jeux de cartes, pour n’en nommer que quelques-uns. Elle adorait le chocolat et aimait aussi savourer un verre de vin rouge — son « tonique », comme elle disait — qu’elle croyait être un des secrets de sa longévité.

Estelle laisse dans le deuil ses sept enfants : Gary (Evelyn), Denis (Donna), David (Connie), Carol (Larry), Richard (Suzie), Dale (Dean) et James (Christina); ses petits-enfants : Erin (Ian), Ryan (Nicole), Kathleen, Melanie (Joey), Stephanie (Paul), Sarah (Paul), Kevin (Ola), Daniel (Nicole), Tanya (Evan), Amanda (Charles), Adam et Caleb; ainsi que ses 21 arrière-petits-enfants, qui feront vivre sa mémoire avec amour.

Elle rejoint son époux bien-aimé, John « Johnny » Perks, sa petite-fille chérie Kaitlin, ainsi que ses six frères et sœurs qui l’ont précédée.

La famille tient à remercier du fond du cœur le personnel de l’unité des soins palliatifs de l’hôpital Charles-LeMoyne pour leur compassion et les excellents soins offerts durant les dernières heures d’Estelle. Nous souhaitons également remercier sincèrement l’équipe et le personnel du Chartwell Résidence à Greenfield Park pour leur dévouement et leur grande gentillesse. Estelle a vraiment adoré vivre à Chartwell durant les six ans et demi qui ont marqué la fin de sa vie. Ce fut pour elle un endroit rempli de joie — de musique, de rires, d’amitié et de belle communauté. Elle aimait particulièrement chanter dans la chorale, jouer du piano pour les autres résidents et participer aux nombreuses célébrations, qui se terminaient souvent sur la piste de danse.

Estelle laisse derrière elle un héritage de foi, d’amour et de compassion.

Au lieu de fleurs, un don à la Société Alzheimer serait grandement apprécié.

Les visites auront lieu à La Maison Darche Services funéraires, située au 7679, boul. Taschereau, Brossard (QC), J4Y 1A2, le lundi 9 février 2026, de 10 h à 16 h, suivies d’une célébration à 16 h, puis d’une réception.
