Alexander Daniel Manautou

Alec was an Educator with BISD for over 20 years. He taught in various special education positions and coached almost every sport imaginable. Alec was truly dedicated to helping his students. He went beyond his job description by taking a personal interest in his students lives, and he left a lasting impact on every child to enter his classroom. He was a bold and boisterous man, who spread cheer and excitement everywhere he went. There was no problem he couldn’t solve and no mind he couldn’t change. He touched the lives of all he interacted with, and always stayed strong for his loved ones when they needed him. The world will forever miss your wonderful soul. Life will never be as colorful, loud, safe, warm, exciting or joyful. Thank you for being a strong rock and safe haven for me and our family. We love you forever and always. Alec was an amazing brother and the ultimate family man. During his life, he accomplished many of his dreams, including trips to Hawaii, and New Orleans, seeing his beloved children attend UT law school and A&M, creating a home with his wife Lesley, and having one final roadtrip to Austin to stay with his sisters family where he saw his beloved mother, made tamales, and beat everyone at canasta and poker, winning over 100 dollars in the final hand.

He is preceded in death by his father: Henry Manautou.

Left to cherish his memory are his Mother: Rachel Valdez Manautou; His Wife Lesley Manautou; his Children: Alexandra Manautou, Nicholas Manautou, Julian Manautou and James Manautou; his siblings: Annette Brooks, Enrique “ Ricky” Manautou, Homer Manautou and Irene Manautou-Williams.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. With a cremation to follow as per family’s wishes.
