Ana Maria was born on January 10, 1951, in Nuevo Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, to Jose Avila Sigona and Ramona Flores Farias, beginning a life filled with love and devotion. She married Ernesto Segundo Castro on December 15, 1973, in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila. They shared a loving marriage of 51 years and raised four children: Ernesto, Glynn, Michel, and Ana Veronica.
Ana Maria graduated from Escuela Normal Superior de Educacion. She then worked as a teacher leaving her legacy through the impact she made on her students and their families. After meeting and marrying Ernesto, she devoted herself to raising their family. In 1985, she co-founded Top Performance Industries/Mexam with her husband, Ernesto, marking a successful chapter in their lives.
An adoring wife and mother, Ana Maria cherished her role as the matriarch of her family and took immense pride in her children and 10 grandchildren. She was known for her radiant smile, warmth, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Ana Maria enjoyed gathering with friends, reading romance novels, knitting, and savoring her favorite pan dulce with a cup of coffee. She instilled in her children the life long lessons of remembering your culture, service to others, being trustworthy, never giving up, significance of education, importance of a united family and benefitting society. It can not go without saying that Ana Maria always opened up her house to others including many of her children’s friends who loved the sense of family, warmth and not least her cooking.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jose Avila Sigoña; her mother, Ramona Flores Farias; her brothers, Jose “Pepe” Flores, Hector “Chacho” Avila, and Juan Manuel Avila; and her sister-in-law, Santa Avila.
