With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Angel Barbosa, a joyful and beloved member of our community, whose warmth and spirit touched all who knew him.
Angel was a truly social soul—always ready with a smile, a kind word, and a listening ear. His presence lit up every room, and his genuine love for people made him a treasured friend to many. He had a special gift for bringing others together, whether through laughter, conversation, or simply sharing a good meal.
A devoted member of the Catholic Church, Angel lived his faith actively and joyfully. His love for God was reflected in the way he treated others—with compassion, generosity, and unwavering kindness. He participated wholeheartedly in church life, often lending his voice in song and his energy to church events and gatherings.
Angel had a deep passion for music and dancing—two things that brought him great joy and allowed his vibrant spirit to shine. He was never shy about getting up to dance or singing along with his favorite tunes. He also loved spending time with friends, especially when it involved going out to eat and enjoying good food and conversation.
Those who knew Angel will remember his laughter, his kindness, and the way he made people feel seen and valued. His legacy is one of joy, friendship, and faith.
He will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Angel is survived by his son Angel Barbosa Jr.; his siblings Marisela Palmenez (Odon), Margarita Hernandez (Angel), Carlos Barbosa (Berta), Rosario Harrison (Kenny), Manuel Barbosa (Ileana), Ester Lara (Robert), Alfonso Barbosa (Esperanza †), Gloria Reyna (Max) and Raul Barbosa (Imelda). he also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and a lot of cousins.
Angel was preceded in death by his father Enrique Barbosa † and his mother Rosa C. Barbosa †.
A visitation for Angel will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a rosary at 7;00 PM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mc. Davitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX.
A mass will occur Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 606 W Ocean Blvd, Los Fresnos, TX, followed by a burial at 11:00 AM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX.
Serving as pallbearers are Rene Palmarez, Adrian Barbosa, Omar Barbosa, Jaime Barbosa, Robert Lee Barrera and Chris Hernandez.
