Carmen M Rubio

Carmen M. Rubio, known to many as Tita, was lifted into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at the golden age of 98 surrounded by her daughter Yolanda, niece Tere, and grandson Bill.

Carmelita was preceded in death by her husband Rodolfo Rubio Rojo; mother, Leocadia (Malecita); sister, Celia; brothers, Enrique and Manuel; sons-in-law, Bill Anderson, Sr., Ambrosio (Bocho) Villarreal and Paul J. Ogden.

She is survived by her daughters, Yolanda R. Villarreal and Emma Ogden; grandchildren, Bill, Robert and Jeff (Mary) Anderson, Tish Sharadin and Debbie Ogden. Carmelita is also survived by her great grandchildren, Danny and Andrew Sharadin, Chris, Courtney, Jon (Amanda) Anderson and JoAnn (Joshua) Spencer and great great grandchildren, Matthew and Caleb; her niece Tere who lovingly cared for her and by many, other nieces and nephews. She was also taken care of by her godchild Irma Sherman.

After her husband’s death, Carmelita took an active role in providing and caring for her daughters. She worked and retired from McNair’s after 30 years and was known for her great cooking and baking. She was active in numerous religious organizations at the Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral where she was a lifelong member and travelled often with her family. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 10am to 9pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm today, Friday, January 21, 2011 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.

Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10am on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral, 1218 E. Jefferson St., Brownsville, Texas 78520.

Interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Bill, Robert and Jeff Anderson, Scott Sherman, Roy Maciel and Jesus Maciel. Honorary pallbearer, Sergio Alejandro Carrasco.
