Carmen was a devoted elementary school teacher for 30 years who inspired many with her strengths and kindness despite life's challenges; she taught in multiple Texas cities and cherished her roles as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend while welcoming many into her home for a good meal or a place to stay. She will be missed by all whose life she touched.
Carmen is survived by her daughter Analisa Saenz; son Manuel H. Saenz (Paula); daughter Virginia Saenz (Steven Arispe); son Jorge L. Saenz (Blanca); son Robert S. Saenz (Stella); son Marcos A. Saenz; step son Brian D. Saenz; brother Alfonso Treviño, sister Virginia K. Childress, sister Annette Hunter, brother Antony Hunter, sister Lucy Garcia, sister Sandra Slovac, sister Mary Lou Orosco; sister Linda Martinez; and grandchildren Jalexandra Ramos, Jarred A. Saenz, Mia Brooke Saenz, Michael P. Saenz and Jose Cano Saenz; great grandson Mateo Rene Ramos.
Carmen was preceded in death by her mother Celeste Hunter Vogt †; father Alfonso Treviño † and step father Herbert H. Hunter †; and grandson Jacob E. Saenz †.
Carmen also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
A memorial service for Carmen will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM with a rosary at 12:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78526. A mass will occur Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at St Luke Catholic Church, 2800 Rockwell Dr, Brownsville, TX 78521.
