

Delia Irma Vargas was born in Matamoros to Severiano Cantu & Amelia Zamora. Mrs. Vargas was employed by Booth Fisheries & Eagle International for many years. She will always be remembered for her uselfish personality, always helping others and her cooking. Our Mom was the sole provider for our family, and always found a way to help others in need. She will be greatly missed.
Delia is preceded in death by her parents, Severiano Cantu and Amelia Zamora; sisters, Amanda Castillo, Gloria Gaytan and Marta De Garate; brothers, Hector Manuel Cantu and Severiano Cantu Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Gabriel (Consuelo) Vargas, and Roel Ivan (Juanita) Cantu; grandsons, John Vargas, Edward Vargas, and Roel Ivan Cantu Jr.; granddaughters, Norma Vargas, Jacqueline Cantu, and Ivana Cantu; 4 great-grandchildren; 14 nephews and 7 nieces.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 from 11am – 9pm with a holy rosary at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
A mass will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 555 W. St. Francis with committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gabriel Vargas, Roel Ivan Cantu, John G. Vargas, Eduardo Vargas, Roel Ivan Cantu Jr., and Mario Ernesto Gaytan.
