Delilah Plata Ramirez, 62, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend entered into eternal rest with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Solara Hospital in Brownsville, surrounded by her loving family. A native of Brownsville, Texas, Delilah P. Ramirez was born September 17, 1955 and had been a lifetime resident of Brownsville. She was a cherished member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her loves and passions included her savior, Jesus Christ, her children, siblings, and grandchildren - whom were her pride and joy. She loved working on arts and crafts, sewing, knitting, genealogy, and fishing. Delilah dedicated over 22 years of her life as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, and impacted many lives throughout her career. Many will remember her for her heart of gold, her kindness, and her love for life. She will be greatly missed by her family, and all those fortunate to have known her. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and eternal partner, Jose Y. Ramirez, parents Consuelo Guerra Lerma and Job Plata, brother Job Plata Jr., and granddaughter Amanda Dani Perez. Left behind to eternally treasure her memory are her children: Nereida Perez, Claudia Salinas, Rebecca R. Tovar, and Jose (Joey) Ramirez Jr; son in laws: Daniel Perez, Jake Salinas, George Tovar, and Leonardo (Elena) Torres; daughter in laws; Giovanna Lam and Crystal (Basilio) Ramirez; sister: Sandra Plata, Ana Vela, and Rosalba Gutierrez; brothers: Ruben Plata, Luis Plata, Ivan Plata, Pete Vela, and Ricky Vela; grandchildren: Danielle Perez, Daniel Perez II, Ember Perez, Patricia Torres, Michael Torres, Evanee Salinas, Elijah Salinas, Ethan Salinas, Carlos Pimentel, Ichelle, Ramirez, Jayden Gomez, Angeleena, and Khloee Torres, Sara, Jazmen, and George Tovar Jr.; and Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be held Monday, September 3, 2018 from 2pm to 9pm at Del Angel Buena Vista, with a church service at 7pm. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 4, 2018 from 8am to 1:30pm at Del Angel Buena Vista, with Church service at 2pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Price Rd. Entombment will follow immediately at Del Angel Buena Vista Burial Park.
