Mr. Cisneros served his country during the Great Depression in the Civilian Conservation Corps. earning a Honorable Discharge on November 25, 1941. In 1942, he joined the U.S. Navy, crossing the Equator on February 29, 1944 earning another Honorable Discharge in 1945.
A loving husband to his wife of 76 years Angela Cisneros, wonderful father to their two sons George Jr., and Javier Cisneros, daughters Eva Lozada and Grace De La Cruz. His son Miguel Cisneros precedes him to the presence of the Lord. A caring grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by six siblings Anita, Lupita, Antonio, Alfonso, Jose and Sergio Cisneros.
George was a man of great faith who enjoyed making others laugh with his jokes and easily became a friend to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista. Chapel services will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista followed by a committal service and military honors conducted by VFW Post #2035 at Buena Vista Burial Park.
