

He was born in Villanueva on May 16, 1946 where he spent the majority of his childhood before joining the military in 1963. Guadalupe proudly served in the U.S. Army as a member of the 101st Airborne during the Vietnam War where he was awarded multiple medals for his service. Guadalupe was honorably discharged in 1967 and returned home where he married in 1968. In addition, upon his return, he was gainfully employed by the Levi's company where he stayed for many years until his retirement.
Mr. Guevara is preceded in death by his first wife, Evelia Guevara.
Guadalupe is survived by his wife, Rosa M. Guevara; six children, Ernesto Guevara, Veronica Souriall, Claudia Garza, Karla Guevara, Jesus Guevara, and Alexia Resendez; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Zori and Beatrice Cerwin; three brothers, Candelario Balboa, Ruben Balboa, and Catarino Martinez.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 from 8:00a.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Rosary to be conducted at 7:00p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Mass will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel (1055 Military Hwy.), followed by committal service at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Military Honors will be conducted by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2035.
