

Preceded in death by parents Samuel T. & Berta R. Rodriguez, two sons Jerry Lee & Jason Gabriel Rodriguez, grandmother Josefina Medina and great grandmother Mercedes Medina.
Graduated from Brownsville High School Bro. Tx. Attended 2 yr at T.S.C. college Bro. Tx. Joined USN, volunteered June 1973, served 2 yrs during Vietnam conflict and 2 yrs peacetime. Station in San Diego Calif for bootcamp where he graduated No. 2 in the company. Was awarded outstanding recruit and also the Lions club award recipient. Attended Med. Technologist Lab school at Bethesda National Naval Med. Hosp. in Bethesda Md. Served as Med. Lab Technologist at NAS CC Tx. Received the National Defense medal and 1st Good Conduct award. Was honorably discharged on Aug. 1977. Attended T.S.T.I. Institute in Hgn Tx 1977-1978, graduated with distinction. Employed at Mercy Hosp. Bro. Tx for 5 yrs in Med. Laboratory. Was also a Postal clerk supervisor for USPS for 5 yrs at Hgn Tx. Employed as supervisor for Med Lab of D.W. Flory MD in Hgn Tx. From 1986 to 2003 was employed by Dr. Gerardo Collins otolaryngologist in Hgn Tx and V.E.N.T throat specialists in Hgn Tx, also per Dr. Tan Nguyen otolaryngologist Jerry worked as director of the allergy clinic till his myocardial infarction in Oct. 2003.
Jerry should be remembered as a true patriot and Nobel citizen.
Jerry was initially married to Sylvia S. Sanchez for 32 yrs and has a living daughter Gina (Margot Rubio) R. Rodriguez. Jerry was presently married to Minerva L. Rodriguez (my greatest love). Spent time lovingly with family: The Gomezes, the Ramos, Escobares, Ibarras and the Sayas, Zunigas, Moreiras, Olivares, Olveras, Medinas. My loving granddaughters Victoria Lee & Gabriela Leigh & their fiances and husband.
Don't worry I will be watching after you all from where ever God places me. Love you all dearly!
Living Family Members: Sister Janie R. Zamarripa, Hector her husband, Omar, Leo & Laura nephews & niece husband Joey. Great granddaughter Chloe R. Garcia, her father Alan Garcia. Nephews & nieces Laura Senaida, Fernando Steven & Susanna, Brother Fernando Rodriguez & sister in law Joann and niece Alexis. A visitation will be held in Chapel of Peace at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, located at 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas, on February 25, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Military Honors will be observed in the Chapel of Peace at the same venue, beginning at 6:00 pm, followed by a Rosary at 7:00 pm.
Jerry will be remembered for his contributions to his community and the lives he touched. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
