Jesus “Chuy” Alvarez was born on August 6, 1939 in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, and was called to his forever home by our Lord and Savior on May 12, 2023, at age 83.
Jesus Alvarez worked hard every day of his life to provide for his family. He enjoyed his career and owned JA Upholstery from 1972 until his retirement in 2002.
He was a master of his trade, a bit of a perfectionist, which is why he was loved and admired by his many customers, colleagues, and those he would employ from time to time. Jesus was an honest man, a man of his word, which earned him the respect of those around him. Aside from his work, his greatest accomplishment was his family. He loved nothing more than spending time with his wife and children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jesus is survived and will be missed by his wife of 55 years, Amalia, forever cherished and remembered by his five children Michelle, Lili (Victor), Jessica (Carlos), Jesus “Jesse” Alvarez Jr. (Trisha), Erica (Brett), grandchildren Andres Jr. (Ameyali), Charlie (Raianne), Kassandra (Jason), Daniel (Daniela), Antonio, Samantha (Noah), Yanilcy, Alyssa, Yazmyn, Alexa, Arian, great grandchildren Greyson, Addalee and Isabella, brother Joe (Elida) Alvarez and sister María de la Luz Alvarez.
Jesus was preceded in death by his parents, Juan Alvarez and Micaela Alvarez Rodriguez and grandson, Adam Valle.
Jesus was a very loving family man, and loyal and devoted husband to the love of his life. He was known by many, but very selective of those he called friends. A man of few words, who did everything with honesty and integrity. He had very strong morals and values, which he passed down to his children. Jesus taught his children to love God and each other and to take pride in their hard work. Those closest to him will always remember his childhood stories, which overtime became very repetitive! He was a very kind and patient man and will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and those whose lives he touched.

“You never said I’m leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.” Author Anonymous
