

Jesus Roberto Valenzuela our beloved husband, father, father-in-law, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, entered into the glory of his eternal life on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013, at Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, surrounded by his loving family after a valiant battle with cancer.
Born on June 7, 1947, in Ahujita, Coahuila, Mexico, Mr. Valenzuela had been a resident of Brownsville for many years. A welder all his life, Mr. Valenzuela talent can be seen and appreciated by all those who drive down Price Road in front of Homer Hanna High School (formerly Brownsville High School) in the "B" that stands in front of the school. Mr. Valenzuela was a friend to one and all and was always there ready to lend a helping hand and do whatever he could for his friends. He gave his all for his family and friends. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ignacia and Sabino Valenzuela; survived by sisters, Magdalena Baker and Rosario (Javier) De La Garza; and brother Sergio Carrizal.
Left behind to eternally treasure their memories of him are his loving and devoted wife of 45 years, Hortensia Sierra Valenzuela; his children, Elva Garza (Alfonso Diaz +, Luciano Garza +), Laura (Oscar) Lara, Jesus Roberto (Jacqueline)Valenzuela Jr., and Margarita (Carlos) Martinez; his grandchildren; Amanda Jo Garza, Oscar (Oj) Lara Jr., Esteban (Stevie) Lara, Sabrina Martinez, Victoria Lynn Valenzuela, Joshua Lara, Aaliya Martinez, Jesus Roberto Valenzuela III, Sebastian Valenzuela and Jesus Alfonso Diaz and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held, Friday, Sep. 27, 2013 from 11am–9pm with a talk at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
A Chapel Service will be held on Saturday, Sep. 28, 2013 at 2pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista with an interment to follow to Buena Vista Burial Park.
