Johnny Galvan Jr., was a beloved father, Marine, and a family man known for his big heart, creativity, and sense of humor. As a proud Marine, he carried values of strength, loyalty, and service throughout his life.
Johnny loved spending time fishing at the beach with his family and expressing himself through music and art. He was a talented guitar player and an accomplished art teacher whose creativity touched many students.
He was always cracking jokes and making others laugh. He was always willing to help his family in any way he could. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love, laughter and kindness.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Elvia M Galvan, and his children: Amelia Soto (Guz), Carolina Sarmiento (Magdiel), Carmen Lam (Justin), and Johnny Galvan (Emily). Johnny was a devoted grandfather to Elijah Soto, Jonah Soto, Priscilla Soto, Jasmine Soto, Joseph Soto, Andrew Garza, Charlotte Galvan, Heidi Galvan, and Lily Galvan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Juan Galvan, his mother, Carmen Galvan, and a grandchild, Baby Galvan.
Visitation will be held at the Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, in the Chapel of Peace, located at 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas, 78521. The visitation will take place on January 20, 2026, starting at 5:00 pm and continuing until 11:30 pm the following day.
A committal service will be conducted at the Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, situated at 2520 Inspiration Rd, Mission, Texas, 78572, on January 21, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
Johnny will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
