Chabelo, is survived by his sisters: Judith Rubalcava and Ana Maria Rodriguez Lopez, His children Janie N. Garza, Jose Antonio “Toño”, Hermelinda Jimenez “Linda”, Laura Patricia Croasdaile “Paty”, Jose Juan Sr. “John”, Jose Isabel Jr. “Joe”, Maria Ortiz “Pita”, Antonio “Tony”, many grandchildren and great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren Shelby Lara and Daniel L. Betancourt.
Chabelo is preceded by his wife of 60 years Catalina Pedraza, His brothers Walberto “Beto’ (Constanza), Anastacio “Tacho” (Diana), Abel (Lupita) and His sister Antonia Limas (Gabriel)
Chabelo was born on September 14, 1932, to Antonio Rodriguez (Peace officer) and Esperanza Lopez (homemaker, also spoke Nahuatl) from Matamoros Tamaulipas Mexico. He was united in holy matrimony to (IPF Founding Pastor) Catalina Pedraza on April 14, 1955, until her passing on Sept 22,2015.
Chabelo, loyal servant of God, first and foremost. He loved the church and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible. Enjoyed reading, studying and memorizing the Bible. He was a spiritual man and involved in many church activities including leading Sunday School service, Music and men’s group. Throughout his entire life he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. He had an incredible sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him.
Now that Chabelo has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that this is the end of Chabelo’s life on earth. It’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for him.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday November 17 at 6 pm and on the 18th at 10 am with internment service at 11 am, at Del Angel Funeral home 125 Mc Davitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521
