

“He served in the 82nd Airborne and was stationed in Fort Bragg, NC. He also served in the National Guard and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Association. He worked for Southwestern bell/AT&T for 35 years. Mr. Salazar was also a devoted Catholic. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, and friends. Mr. Salazar was a very outgoing person with a great sense of humor. He enjoyed making people laugh. He was hardworking, enjoyed dancing, fishing, trips to the flea market, and family barbecues. Mr. Salazar lost his 2 year battle to Lou Gehrig’s (ALS).”
Mr. Salazar is preceded in death by his loving parents, Jose Juan Salazar and Guadalupe Salazar; and his sister, Magdalena Tellez.
Left to cherish the memory of Juan Jose Salazar is his beloved wife, Maria C. Salazar of 46 happy years; his sisters, Guadalupe Pineda, Ernestina Brandt, and Maria Consuelo Weher; one brother, Carlos Salazar; his two sons, Juan Jose Salazar Jr. (Lily) and Michael Salazar (Jessica); his three daughters, Lisa Salazar Treviño (Mark), Cynthia Salazar Robbins (James), and Melissa Salazar; and numerous grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held today, Sunday, March 23, 2014 from 11a.m. to 9p.m. with a Rosary to be conducted at 7p.m. in the chapel of Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
A Chapel Service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at 3p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista with committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Serving as Pallbearers will be, Michael Salazar, Mark A. Treviño, Joseph Treviño, James Robbins Jr., James Robbins III, and John Matthew Salazar.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearer will be, Juan Jose Salazar Jr.
