Julian Ruiz was born on August 27, 1932, in Los Maguelles Durango Mexico to Bernardina Garcia and Jose Carmen Ruiz. Julian died peacefully at his home on May 17, 2024, surrounded by his wife and family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernardina and Jose Carmen Ruiz, his son, Daniel Ruiz, his siblings, Rosa Maria Gutierrez, Francisca (Panchita) Torres, Gloria Rodriguez, Eva Torres, Cleotilde Castorena and Juan Ruiz.
He is survived by his Vidita of 64 years, Julia Ruiz, his children, Jerry, Becky (Ron), Ana (George), David (Jenni) and Gabriel (Claudia). His Grandchildren: Manny (Melissa), Daniela (Fernando), Savannah (Josh), Michael (Jackey), Chloe, Benjamin, Matthew (Priscila), Joaquin, Sam, Julian, and his Great-Grandchildren: Oscar, Manny J, Giovanni, Fernando Daniel, Giuliana, Lilliana and Travis Michael; His brother Efrain Ruiz (Nicoletta), Rafael Ruiz (Rosario) and Mary Brooks (Alfred), brothers and sisters in law and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all whom he loved.
The Ruiz Family would like to thank the many doctors and medical providers who took care of Julian throughout his life, including the staff at Valley Baptist Hospital, South Texas Rehab, BNR and the VA. A very special Thank You to the staff of Mercy Home Health and Amedisys Hospice who made the final days of his life comfortable and peaceful.
Julian’s 91 years of life will be celebrated on Sunday, May 26, 2024, with visitation held at Funeraria del Angel from 12-9pm, with Rosary at 7pm. A Catholic Mass Service will be held on Monday, May 27, 2024, at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral at 10am. The burial will be at the Buena Vista Burial Park.
A visitation for Julian will be held Sunday, May 26, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7 pm in Chapel of Angels, at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A mass will occur Monday, May 27, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1218 E Jefferson, Brownsville, Texas 78520. A burial will occur Monday, May 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
