Leonardo Olmeda

With heavy hearts, we share that Leonardo “Leo” Olmeda entered into eternal rest after a hard-fought nine-year battle against cancer on the 8th of December 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones at the age of 52.

He was born on the 3rd of March in 1973 in Delano, California, to San Juana Hernandez. Leo was one of five siblings and took great pride in his sons, who were his greatest joy and blessing. He was the backbone of our family and the person everyone went to for advice and guidance. Our world is forever changed without his kind heart, unwavering work ethic, and selfless personality.

A man of strong faith and even stronger love for his family, he leaves behind a legacy of devotion. He enjoyed spending time with his family, whether it be playing loteria at his sister’s house, cooking out, golfing, playing poker, or watching his favorite team play, the Cowboys. Many knew Leo for his love of Seinfeld and how he knew every episode by heart, his ability to make friends everywhere he went, even if they spoke for only five minutes they obtained a friend for life, and the hard worker he was.

Leo is survived by his loving and devoted wife Adriana Saldaña and his children Leonardo Arturo Olmeda and Edgar Felix Olmeda, by his loving canine protector Cosmo, by his mother San Juana Olmeda, by his mother-in-law Juana Margarita Saldaña, by his siblings Isabel Gomez (Juan Ruben Gomez), Tomasa Olmeda, Joe Olmeda, and Yvette Olmeda, by his brother and sister-in-laws Olivia Garza (Fernando Garza), Arturo Saldaña Jr., Gabriela Saldaña (Joe Tise), by his nieces and nephews Kimberly Gomez (Irving Rodriguez), Catherine and Juan Ruben Jr. Gomez, Matthew Hamby, Amberlyn, Kassandra and Julian Olmeda, Sarah and Freddy Jr Garza, Elizabeth and Eleanor Tise, Gregory Sonier, and Aubrey Medrano.

He is preceded in death by his late father-in-law Arturo Saldaña, his late grandparents Cesario Hernandez and Tomasa Garcia, as well as his late canine companion Dessie.

Though our grief is beyond words, his family is comforted by the blessed assurance that he is now with our Father in Heaven and is no longer suffering. His impact on our lives and the echoes of his love will forever stay with us, and we will continue to tread through life with the knowledge that he is always watching over us until we are reunited with him again.
