

Manuela was born in Olmito, Texas on May 1, 1920 to Jose & Maria Ramirez Castillo. She lived her entire life in Brownsville, Texas. She was a graduate of Brownsville High School, Class of 1938. She was a teacher aide at Longoria Elementary School for 26 years and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Manuela is preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Lopez, her son, Henry Walter Deven, her daughter, Grace Margaret Deven and her two sisters, Olaya C. Lopez and Gonzala Alcala.
Manuela is survived by her children, Norma Lee Deven Guitron (Lamberto Guitron, Jr.) of McAllen, Texas and Jose Arturo Lopez (Carol) of Brownsville, Texas. She has 7 grandchildren, Lamberto Guitron of Fort Carson, Colorado, Ida Yvonne Alvarez of McAllen, Texas, Cynthia Yvette Pierce (Donald) of Jacksonville, Florida, Steven Guitron (Becky) of San Antonio, Texas and Elizabeth Marie Zuniga (Gerardo) of McAllen, Texas, and Chelsea & Ashley Lopez of Brownsville, Texas and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1pm to 9pm with a Rosary to be recited at 7pm on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
A Mass will be held at 2pm on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2308 E. Tyler with a committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
