There are many words to describe Maria Adamina Atkinson. She was a generous, hard working, compassionate, loving, beautiful soul. She was a devoted loving wife, an amazing mother and the sweetest grandmother and great grandmother.
Maria Adamina Atkinson was someone who enjoyed the company of others. She was always searching for a reason to gather with family and friends for some good food and music. Her favorite pastimes were going to the casino and listening to mariachis.
Maria Adamina Atkinson loved life so much she fought until her very last breath. She lived a beautiful, long and happy life and will be greatly missed. She is now in a much better place with our Lord and Savior. May she Rest in Peace.
Maria is survived by her daughters Ciria Atkinson Salazar (Enrique Salazar †); Sylvia Atkinson Gutierrez (Jose Tomas Gutierrez Jr); Graciela Atkinson Vasquez (Mario Alberto Vasquez); Minerva Atkinson (Gabriel Verduzco); and her son Jose De Jesus Atkinson (Irma Leticia Atkinson).
Maria was preceded in death by her husband Justo Atkinson †; her daughters Maria Francisca Alanis † and Mary Saldaña †.
A visitation for Maria will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A chapel service will occur Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Followed by a burial at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
Serving as pallbearers are Ciria Atkinson Salazar, Sylvia Atkinson Gutierrez, Graciela Atkinson Vasquez, Jose De Jesus Atkinson, Minerva Atkinson, Jose Tomas Gutierrez Jr, Mario Alberto Vasquez and Gabriel Verduzco Jr.
