Maria Elena Bermudez

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend to many, Maria Elena (Nena) Bermudez passed away on June 11th, 2024, after a beautifully lived life. Born on June 5th, 1934, she lived a very fulfilling and adventurous life, full of love, laughter, and strength. Along the way she touched the lives of many who knew her.

She was preceded in death by Her Husband Manuel Bermudez, parents Guadalupe Castillo father and Maria Elena Nieto; siblings, Guadalupe Castillo II, Angelica Langley, Elida Hernandez, Minerva Guerra, Yolanda Castillo, Sylvia Ruth Castillo.

Left to cherish her memories are her siblings Noe Castillo, Roberto Castillo. Her loving children Mary Bermudez, Manuel Bermudez Jr, Mike Bermudez, Sandy Guerra (Heliberto). Grandchildren Monalisa Veraza, Malisa Aguilar, Ernesto Veraza, Manuel Bermudez III, Luis Antonio Bermudez (Inez), Veronica Guerra Ramirez, Sandra Lee Lozano (Eddie), Miguel Angel Guerra. she also left her Great-Grandchildren; Jose Enrique Perdomo, Lori Beth Perdomo, Jennifer Marie Perdomo, Noe Ruiz JR ,Isabel Ruiz ,Noel Ruiz, Elizabeth Ruiz, Andrew Ruiz, Alessandra Bermudez, Luke Bermudez, Nicole Ramirez, Haylee Rose Lozano, Andrew Edward Lozano, and Arian Alexander Guerra.

To commemorate her incredible life and to celebrate the joy she spread, a funeral will be held in her honor at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista at 125 McDavitt, Brownsville, TX on June 19th, 2024. Viewing will be held from 1:00pm -9:00pm with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Funeral service will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista on June 20th, 2024 at 9:00am with interment to follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens at 10:00am. We invite all who knew her to join her family in remembering a truly remarkable and free-spirited woman.
