Maria Luisa Montalvo

Mari was a nurse in Mexico for about 15 years before marrying. She did her training from 1952-1959 in Hacienda Santa Engracia, Mex. Then moved on to work as a nurse in Matamoros from 1959-1967. She married in 1968. She loved gardening and thrifting and also worked as a migrant worker eventually retiring after 30+ years.

She was very kind and loved her children and grandchildren with all her heart.

Maria is survived by her spouse: Hilario Andrade Montalvo; her son: Hilario Rafael Montalvo; her siblings: Juana Maria Gaitan, Cristobal Castro, Geronimo Castro and Enedina Trevino.

Maria was preceded in death by her son: Oscar Montalvo †; her parents: Everardo Castro † and Francisca Torres †; her siblings: Luis Castro †, Lamberto Castro †, Celia Vargas †, Jose Isabel Castro †, Lucia Castro † and Maria De Jesus Castro †.

A visitation for Maria will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 11:00 PM with a Rosary at 7 pm in Chapel of Angels, at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521.
