María Teresa encontraba alegría en los momentos simples y significativos de la vida. Le encantaba ir de compras y tenía un gusto especial para la decoración del hogar, siempre creando espacios acogedores y llenos de vida. En la cocina, expresaba su amor a través de la comida y la repostería, especialmente con sus pasteles, los cuales llenaron de dulzura innumerables reuniones y celebraciones familiares.

Tenía un espíritu vibrante y un gran amor por el baile, llenando su hogar de música y risas. Una de sus mayores alegrías era ser abuela, un papel que desempeñó con todo su corazón, colmando a sus nietos de cariño, sabiduría y cuidados infinitos.

María Teresa también disfrutaba relajarse viendo sus dramas coreanos y novelas favoritas, coleccionar perfumes que reflejaban su personalidad única, y pasar tiempo jugando bingo. Sin importar lo que hiciera, siempre transmitía bondad, alegría y una fortaleza serena que hacía sentir amados a todos a su alrededor.

Por encima de todo, María Teresa será recordada como una esposa y madre profundamente amorosa, cuya dedicación inquebrantable a su familia fue el centro de su vida. Su legado vive en los corazones de quienes la conocieron y la amaron.

Le sobreviven su esposo, Nicolas Barrera; sus hijas, Nicole Barrera y Briana Barrera; su nieto, Elijah Barrera; y su yerno, Martin Pizana. También le sobreviven sus hermanas, Ermelinda Posler, Rebecca Espinosa y Maggie Romero; y sus hermanos, Arnold Rodriguez ,Roland Rodriguez y su tia Maria Elena Rodriguez.

Maria Teresa fue precedida en la muerte por su padre, Guadalupe Rodriguez, y su madre, Ernestina Rodriguez.

La velación se llevará a cabo el 19 de marzo de 2026, de 4:00 p.m. a 8:00 p.m., con un servicio de oración a las 6:00 p.m. en Funeraria Del Ángel Buena Vista, Capilla de la Paz, ubicada en 125 McDavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, Estados Unidos.

Maria Teresa found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. She loved shopping and had a special eye for home décor, always creating spaces that felt welcoming and full of life. In the kitchen, she expressed her love through cooking and baking, especially her cakes, which brought sweetness to countless family gatherings and celebrations.

She had a vibrant spirit and a love for dancing, often filling her home with music and laughter. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother, a role she embraced wholeheartedly, showering her grandchildren with affection, wisdom, and endless care.

Maria Teresa also enjoyed relaxing with her favorite Korean dramas and novelas, collecting perfumes that reflected her unique personality, and spending time playing bingo. No matter what she was doing, she brought kindness, humor, and a gentle strength that made everyone around her feel loved.

Above all, Maria Teresa will be remembered as a deeply loving wife and mother, whose unwavering devotion to her family was the center of her life. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her husband, Nicolas Barrera; her daughters, Nicole Barrera and Briana Barrera; her grandson, Elijah Barrera; her son-in-law, Martin Pizana; her sisters, Ermelinda Posler, Rebecca Espinosa, and Maggie Romero; and her brothers, Arnold Rodriguez, Roland Rodriguez and her aunt Maria Elena Rodriguez.

She was preceded in death by her father, Guadalupe Rodriguez, and her mother, Ernestina Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held on March 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m.at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, Chapel of Peace, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX 78521, US.
