Maria A. Vela entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in Brownsville, Texas. Maria was a member at Restauracion y Poder Church, enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Maria is preceded in death by her mother; Isabel Perez, father; Jesus Aguilera and son; Javier Vela. Left to cherish her memories is her loving husband; Sixto Vela Sr., sons; Jaime and Sixto Vela Jr., daughters; Sylvia Vela and Erika Barrientos, 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 1pm to 9pm with a Prayer Service at 7pm. Inurnment on Monday, January 1, 2018 at 1pm at Buena Vista Burial Park.
