Maricruz is survived by her husband: Mario Plata Flores; her children: Maricruz Plata (Antonio Garza), Meliza Plata, Mario Jesus Plata (Delfina Mendez) and Marisa Cortez (Carlos Cortez); her grandchildren: Mary Lee Cortinas, Leslie Monique Sandoval (Thomas Vazquez), Mario Jesus Plata Jr (Clarissa M Cortez), Ruben Sandoval Jr, Carlos Alexandro Cortez, Iram Antonio Garza, Dilann Giovanny Barragan, Nathanael Cortez and Noah Adriel Cortez; her great grandchildren: Dean Vazquez, Laiyna Hope Vazquez and Sophia Isabella Sandoval.
Chachis, as many of us knew her by, had a love for serving the Lord. Her disposition and willingness to serve was always present. Her smile could fill your heart with warmth and welcome. Chachis, she was selfless, always thinking of others, and generously helping those in need.
She had a passion for her plants-her garden was her place and comfort. Her joy was found in her home, surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved hearing all their silly stories and always made time to be part of their accomplishments- she was their biggest fan.
She leaves us with an emptiness in our hearts, but we find peace in knowing that one day we will be reunited in heaven. As per now, Heaven has gained another worrier.
A visitation for Maricruz will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 12:00 AM in Chapel of Peace, at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A continued visitation will occur Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Chapel of Peace, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A burial will occur Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
