Moises served the US Army for years and National Guard. He was a proud US Veteran. He worked for 15 years in BISD Security Department. He also worked with the City of Brownsville Police Department as a Security Officer for 6 years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved serving our God, always praying and reading his bible. He also loved playing Call Of Duty on his tablet.
Moises is survived by his wife Alma L. Barrera, son Aaron N. Barrera, grandson Andre H. Barrera, mother in law Juanita P. Rosales, sister Leaneth Freeman (Johnathan), sister in law Juanita Hernandez (Encarnacion Jr. †), sister in law Edith Orozco (Eduardo), brother in law Ramon Rosales Jr., brother in law Ricardo Rosales (Laura), and daughter in law Maria A. Emerson.
Moises is preceded in death by his parents Moises Barrera Rios, Carmen Barrera Gonzalez and sister Lourdes Garza Barrera.
A visitation for Moises will be held Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm at Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn. A chapel service will occur Monday, April 7, 2025 at 10:00 am at Funeraria Del Angel Rose Lawn followed by a burial at 11:00 am at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Rd, Brownsville, TX 78526.
Serving as pallbearers are Aaron N. Barrera, Ricardo Rosales, Ricardo Rosales Jr., Jairo Roel Rosales, Eduardo Orozco, Encarnacion Hernandez III, Ariel Angel Gonzalez and Albert Candela.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are Ramon Rosales Jr., Joshua A. Garza and Armando Anzaldua.
