Paula was devoted to her family and to a life grounded in faith. For 43 years of marriage, she shared a steady and loving partnership with her husband, Jose C. Mendoza, building a home marked by care, warmth, and constancy. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, aunt, and a caring grandmother whose presence brought comfort and reassurance to those around her.
Her faithful involvement with her church reflected the quiet strength of her devotion to God. In the everyday ways that matter most, Paula’s kind heart showed through—especially in the meals she prepared with pride and generosity. A passionate cook, she was known for delicious food that gathered family together and made others feel welcome. She also had a gifted, creative hand: crafty by nature and a good seamstress, she put patience and care into what she made, leaving behind reminders of her thoughtfulness in the details.
Paula is survived by her husband, Jose C. Mendoza; her sons, Jose Carlos Mendoza (Kara McGee), Christian Alberto Mendoza (Edith Plants), and Brandon Patrick Mendoza (Amy Peña); her granddaughters, Juliette Claire Mendoza, Kailynn Orosco, and Alessia Orosco; her brothers, Israel Gracia, Ignacio Gracia, and Eleuterio Gracia; and her sisters, San Juana Cardenas and Micaela Alaniz.
Paula was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Gracia; her mother, Vicenta Gracia; and her brothers, Guadalupe Gracia and Jorge Gracia.
