

Paulita, as she was loving known to her family and friends, was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who devoted her last 48 years to her husband and children. She was a very giving person who always helped her church, friends, and anyone in need. Paulita was very well known for her famous tamales. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rafael and Antonia Valdez; sisters, Jacoba Vela and Juana Tovar; brother, Benigno Valdez; son, Jose Pablo Solis.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years Gaspar De Leon and her loving children, Antonia Garza, Quirino Garza, Maggie (Carlos) Castro, Gaspar (Betty) De Leon III, Manuel De Leon and Rosa (Cristobal) Navarro; 21 grandchildren numerous great-grandchildren and her caregiver Porfiria Rios.
Visitation will be held on, Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 12:30noon – 10:30pm with a rosary at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 1pm at Holy Family Catholic Church at 2308 E. Tyler with interment to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Gaspar S. De Leon Jr., Gaspar De Leon III, Carlos H. Castro, Carlos H. Castro Jr., Cristobal Navarro, Cristobal Navarro Jr., Manuel De Leon and Quirino Garza.
Special thanks to Dr. De la Vega & Staff Valley Baptist Medical Center Respiratory Dept., 3 Tower Nurses and nurse’s assistants, Odyssey Hospice, Father, Jorge Gomez from Holy Family Church and Porfiria Rios, who devoted 10 years to care for our mom.
