Ramon “Raymond” Franco Jr., born on November 25th, 1951 in Brownsville, TX to Ramon and Clara Franco, has entered into eternal rest after passing away peacefully on April 1st 2025. Ramon grew up in Brownsville, and is a graduate of Brownsville High School, Class of 1970. He pursued a degree in Electrical Engineering at Texas Southmost College and the University of Texas at Arlington. In his youth, he served as an altar boy and excelled in baseball, where together with his father and brother they won various accolades and city championships. Ramon had a love of music, and a passion for dance. He was a hard working father who held various roles throughout his life, including being a Pizza Hut Manager, a traveling salesman, with the majority of his career (Over 17 years) spent at Schumacher Electric as a procurement coordinator. He enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren shine in arts and sports, but most of all enjoyed a good conversation and being a playful and loving “Pop-Pop” to his grandchildren.
Ramon is preceded in death by his parents Ramon Franco Sr. and Clara Franco. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Felipa “Jessica” Franco and their three children Matthew (Stephanie), Mark (Stephanie), and Jessica (Drew). He is also survived by his eldest children David (Ida), Anna (Ben) and their mother Yolanda. He leaves behind his brother Ruben Franco (Laura), his sister Patsy Franco, along with six grandchildren: Travis, Hannah, Luke, Leah, Mateo and James, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation services will be held Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 1:00 to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX. A chapel service will be held Monday, April 7th at 12:00 PM at 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, TX, followed by a burial at 1:00 PM at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4464 Old Port Isabel Road, Brownsville, TX.
Serving as pallbearers are: David Ray Franco, Matthew Ramon Franco, Mark Alexander Franco, Ruben Daniel Franco, Steven Michael Flores, Luis Saldivar and Drew Hopkins.
