Roberto Mora was a happy, kind-hearted, and social being, liking to converse with loved ones, friends, and perfect strangers. He was a loving family man that loved to take his family to Boca Chica Beach every chance he could and loved to go fishing too. Roberto was a great cook and taught his children how to cook well. He was full of life, enjoyed barbequing chicken on the weekends, and was passionate about singing, especially Pedro Infante and Jorge Negrete songs. He had a beautiful voice that carried extremely well. In his older years he attended Riverside Daycare where he enjoyed to people-watching, playing bingo, & partaking in activities there.
Roberto worked for Ballenger Construction for 30 years building the roads, highways, and streets we all use today in South Texas. Earlier in life Roberto worked for several years on farms, to save money to purchase the family home. When he was a young child, he helped support his father’s home by shining shoes at the famous El Jardin Hotel for years. Always a family man, he took care of his 5 sisters as best he could and still visited them even in his nineties. His best friend in life was his brother, Ruben Riley Mora, whom he was in a band with in his youth.
