Rosa Salinas Rodriguez born in Matamoros, Mexico was 95 years of age when she passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday morning April 6, 2025. She was lovingly known by everyone who knew and loved her as Tia Rosita.
She was a humble servant of God with an immense amount of faith and positive outlook on life. She dedicated her life caring for her extended family; from babysitting nieces and nephews to caring for her elderly brothers and sisters until their passing. For many years she enjoyed traveling on religious missions around Mexico, as well as cooking for family, crocheting, and creating a wide variety of handcrafted products.
She is preceded in death by her parents Teodoro Salinas and Romana Rodriguez, her brothers; Jesus, Ignacio, Teodoro, Rogelio, and Carlos Salinas, and her sisters Sara Menchaca, Margarita Lugo, Espectacion Salinas, Genoveba Marroquin, and Lidia Sandoval.
She is survived by her sister Elida Garcia as well as by many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss her.
A visitation for Rosa will be held Sunday, April 13, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM in Chapel of Angels, at Funeraria del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. A chapel service will be held Monday, April 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM in Chapel of Angels at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista, 125 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521. Followed by a burial at 11:00 AM at Buena Vista Burial Park, 5 Mcdavitt Blvd, Brownsville, Texas 78521.
