

Rosalinda “Pepper” Battles, devoted wife and mother born August 21, 1963 went to be with the Lord in the kingdom of heaven on July 28, 2011 at Valley Baptist Medical Center Brownsville. Rosalinda was a registered radiological technologist for over 20 years and a dedicated health science technology teacher at Lopez High School for the past ten years, where she touched and changed many of her student’s lives. Rosalinda was a HOSA advisor and very involved with the HOSA Club in which she prepared her students for competition. Some of her students advanced and placed several times to the state and national competitions. She was well respected by her colleagues and students.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 23 years Gerald “Jerry” Battles and her two wonderful children Jeremy Battles and Amanda Battles. She is also survived by her parents Francisco and Maria (Linda) Gonzalez, Brother Jose Angel Gonzalez (Dora) of Brownsville, Sister Berta Cuellar (Ciro) of Portland TX., mother-in-law Oralia G. Battles and numerous nieces and nephews. She was loved dearly by her family and friends and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 2pm to 9pm with a recitation of the holy rosary at 7pm at Funeraria Del Angel Buena Vista.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am at St. Luke’s Catholic Church with a committal service to follow at Buena Vista Burial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gerald Battles, Jeremy Battles, Jose Angel Gonzalez, Jose Angel Gonzalez, Jr., Ciro Cuellar, Jaime Cuellar, Bruce Brooker-Key and Eric Alvear.
