Born on September 9, 1943, in Raymondville, Texas, to his parents, Refugia de Luna and Ynes Ybarra Sr., Ynes spent his life as a dedicated educator, with a career spanning over 40 years.
He inspired many students and teachers, most notably by directing several school musical productions. Outside of his work, Ynes collected nutcrackers—a collection that once totaled 485—loved to garden, and enjoyed cooking for his family.
Those who knew Ynes will remember his wonderful sense of humor and caring demeanor. Always set on making people laugh, Ynes left a profound and lasting impact on all those around him and will be forever missed.
Ynes is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Susana; his three children, Melisa, Michelle, and Anthony; his five grandchildren, Cameron, Matthew, Savannah, Connor, and Samantha; his sisters, Connie, Beatriz, and Hilda; and several other cherished family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Alberto and Roberto Salazar; and his sisters Cecilia Ybarra and Elida Garcia.
