My condolences and prayers go out to Mrs.Yolanda Gonzalez's family. She was a wonderful person and a pleasure to work with. I so enjoyed learning from her, when I worked at the Library back in the 70's. May God Bless and Jesus Christ comfort all her family during this difficult time.    Ms. Yolanda you will be missed.

I am deeply saddened by Yolanda's passing. Recently I learned that she is my great-great aunt and I was very much looking forward to meeting her in March. But I am grateful for the long conversation we had and to hear her speak so knowledgeably and poetically about our ancestors. Your dear sister and aunt touched my life, as I am sure she did to everyone who knew her.

My condolences to Ms. Yolanda Gonzalez's family.  I knew Ms. Gonzalez when I was a secretary in the 1980's at Texas Southmost College.  I read all her stories and tales in the "Ghosts of Fort Brown" book series,and the last time I saw her was a couple of years ago during the Summer, ironic, at the funeral of Ms. Elida Perez.  She was a true scholar and a respected member in this community. Her knowledge, her manners, her persona will be missed.

My dearest Juane Ester,
   I was so saddened to hear of dear Yolanda's passing.  Unfortunately, due to illness, we could not be with you, Manolo and Ramon today.
    Her plants are flourishing and the memory of hers and your 'gardening' visit will be a precious one to me and Barry. How fortunate we were to have that last time together.
     Yolanda was a unique person and her absence will be felt deeply by so many people.  She will always be in our hearts.
