

Arthur Karl Dean, lovingly known as "Dino", was born on September 16, 1950, in Füssen, Germany. On January 19, 2026, Dino peacefully went to be with the Lord at age 75, reunited with the loved ones who had gone before him. He passed away at home, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. He will be remembered for the life he lived, the love he shared, and the lasting impact he made on all who were blessed to know him.
Dino graduated from Seaside High School in Fort Ord, California, in 1969. After graduation, he attended Texas A&M University and was a member of the Corp of Cadets before he began a successful career in carpentry. His dedication, skill, and leadership allowed him to work his way up to the role of Superintendent. Throughout his career, he worked for several prestigious companies, including Marshal Erdman & Associates, JE Dunn, Neenan, Carlson Design, and Medical Design & Construction, earning the respect of colleagues and peers alike, while traveling to different states and countries across the world.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Dino was a proud brother of the Cedar Creek #300 Masonic Lodge in Kurten, TX, where his service and commitment as a Master Mason since 1982 led him to earn the distinguished position of Worshipful Master in 2019-20 & District Deputy Grand Master in District 29-A in 2022-23. On May 18th, 2024, he earned the Golden Trowel Award for spreading the cement of brotherly love and friendship with all the skills of a Master Craftsman. During his service he visited over 559 lodges in Texas and other States across America. He was deeply involved in the lodge, leaving a lasting impact through his leadership, mentorship, and unwavering dedication to its values and members.
Dino embraced life with enthusiasm and a sense of adventure, finding joy in the simple and meaningful moments it offered. He loved spending time outdoors fishing, hunting, tending to his cattle, riding horses, and he enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. A true lover of experiences, Dino took great pleasure in visiting different restaurants, trying new foods, and checking items off his ever-growing bucket list. He loved dancing, barbequing, bowling, and going to the movies. Above all else, Dino cherished spending time with his family, creating memories filled with laughter, love, and togetherness that will be treasured forever.
Dino was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Rochelle Leigh Dean; his parents, Alton B. and Rose Marie Dean; his father-in-law, William B. Kucera; his brother Alton Roy Dean and Son-In-Law, Wesley Jim Batson. And his beloved dog “Tex”, who crossed over the rainbow bridge. He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Debra Dean; his daughters, Kimberly Batson and Tiffani Neu; and his son-in-law, Daniel Neu. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Kaitlynn Holub, Kyle Batson, Kaleb Batson, Ryleigh Greer, Emma Neu, and Abigail Neu, and a cherished great-grandfather to Brantley Holub, Koehn Holub, Kaisley Holub, Wesley Batson, and Wrenleigh Batson. His siblings include Barbara (Billy) Kucera, Charles (Becky) Dean, Deborah Junek, and Sandra Dean. Brother-in-Law John (Therese) Kucera, & Sister-in-Law Laurie (Steve) Bailey. Mother-in-Law Dorothy Kucera. Multiple Nieces & Nephews. Dino’s legacy lives on through his family, who were the greatest joy of his life.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate staff of the Oncology & Progressive Care Unit at St. Joseph Hospital and the Enhabit Hospice team. Your exceptional care, kindness, and empathy provided comfort, dignity, and peace during a most difficult time. Your dedication did not go unnoticed and will forever be remembered with deep gratitude by our family.
Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Chapel, located at 1515 South College Avenue in Bryan, Texas, on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026 at 10am, Masonic Evergreen Service will follow at 10:40am to 11am. A funeral Service will take place in the chapel at 11am, and burial will take place following the funeral service at Smetana Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Texas Shriners Children’s, in honor of Dino’s life and legacy. Dino was a member of the Shriner organization and helped to raise charitable funds for those in need. These contributions will serve as a meaningful way to remember him and to support a cause that reflects the values of generosity, service, and compassion that he lived by.
