

Clairee Andert, 101, of Bryan, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Friday, December 13, 2013. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Reliance Baptist Church. The Rev. Ray Marshall will officiate. Interment will follow at the Reliance Cemetery.
Clairee was born on December 2, 1912 to John and Ada Ida Hatley Robertson in Forney, Texas. She and Stephen William Andert were married in 1936. . In 1938 she became the first female editor of the Forney Herald. She and her husband moved to College Station in 1942. Clairee always put her family first as a loving homemaker. She was the first president of the Mothers’ Club that she helped establish at the Kurten School. She was also an adult 4-H leader for many years. When her husband passed away in 1956 she added ranching to her daily tasks. She was a long time devoted member of Reliance Baptist Church, where she served as a nursery school teacher, Bible School teacher and kitchen worker for church functions.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Andert; brothers, Kenneth Robertson, Henry Robertson, and Dan Robertson; sister, Ione Latham; sisters-in-law, Marie Robertson and Francis Robertson; and brother-in-law, James Latham.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Joel Potts of Bryan; one grandson and his wife, Randy and Ramona Potts of Kurten; one granddaughter, Sherri Potts of Houston; five great grandchildren, Jessica, Joel, Jonathan, Alex, and Gabriel; and one great great grandson, Carter. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nita Robertson of Forney, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
The family extends their appreciation to Laurie, Joyce, Cindy, Phyllis, Jackie, Jan and Debbie of Traditions Hospice for their devoted and loving care given to Clairee for the past few years.
