

A celebration service of her life will be held Sunday October 9 at 4:00 p.m. at Aldersgate Methodist Church with Dr. Bruce Wood and Rev. J.J. Ramirez officiating.
Elizabeth was born May 24, 1951 in Bryan the daughter of Armando Ontiveros Sr. and Lupe (Ramirez) Macias. Elizabeth was one of the first female’s to be accepted to Texas A&M University graduating with a degree in Kinesiology in '74 , and received her Masters Degree in Education later on in life. She proudly taught at Hearne Elementary and Middle Schools for 31 years and retired in 2004. Her students were very important to her as well as her nieces and nephew; she took the time to tutor them where as needed. She wanted to see all of them be successful in their lives. Not only did she teach her students, but also was one of the coaches for track, girl’s basketball, volleyball and cheerleading.
She stayed active in her son’s life as well, going on camping trips and other activities with him and his Boy Scout troop or being his Little League Baseball coach of an all female coaching staff with a big competitive edge to win against other coaches in the league.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Armando Macias, Jr. and Albert Macias.
She is survived by her son, Matthew Cagle of Bryan; brothers and sister-in-law, Alfred Sr. and Olga Macias, Julian Macias; sisters and brothers-in-law, Esther and Rudy Guajardo, Eva and Albert Saenz all of Bryan; numerous nieces and nephews.
