

A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday with a rosary
service at 7:15 p.m., at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Ernesto was born September 18, 1955 in Bryan the son of Aurelio and Delfina (Portales) Escamilla. He liked all sports, especially baseball and football. Family was very important to him; he loved spending his free time with his three boys and family, and instilled in his family the importance of family values, the love of Jesus Christ, education and love for the Texas A&M AGGIES. Ernesto attended services at St. Vincent Catholic Church in Bellaire.
Ernesto was preceded in death by his father, Aurelio Escamilla, Sr.; brothers, Eddie Escamilla and Aurelio Escamilla, Jr.; and a niece, Stephanie Nunez Kyle.
He is survived by “my three sons”, Andres Hernandez, Leon Escamilla and Ernesto Escamilla, II; mother, Delfina Escamilla
of Bryan; sisters and brothers, Linda Escamilla of College Station, Margaret Vanecek and husband, Peter, of College Station, Olga Alvarado of Texas City, Joann Lombardo and husband, Jack, of Bryan, Selia Escamilla of Bryan, Rosemary Calhoun and husband, Clayton, of Bryan, Bobby Escamilla of College Station and Elizabeth Perez and husband, Michael, of Bryan; nephews and nieces, Josh, Timmy Jr., Jeremy, Amanda, Jennifer, Rosemarie, Lori, Andre, Lindsey, Jaime, Jeffrey, Jessica, RexAnne, Monica, Lonnie Jr., Candice, Blair, Liza, Justin, Valerie, Matthew and Kevin; 17 great-nephews and nieces; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
