Eugene was born on March 2, 1935 in Bryan the son of Frank and Annie (Fushak) Opersteny. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force. Eugene was a Fireman and worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Dallas and Bryan and was a longtime cattle rancher.
He enjoyed long stays during the summer and some winters at his cabin in Colorado. While there, he hunted and fished.
Eugene is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; and a sister, Lucille Giltin.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Michael Matott, Cathy and Don Hurd; three grandchildren, Stephanie, Laura and Dalton; great-grandchildren, Tripp, Alex, Holden and Caroline.
