Garrett Joseph Maliska

Garrett Joseph Maliska, 17, of Bryan entered into rest on February 28, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 2nd at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church on Coulter Ave. in Bryan. Interment will follow at the Kurten Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 1st with the Rosary service to begin at 8:00 p.m. at Christ the Good Shepherd. Pallbearers will be Kiel Malazzo, Travis Malazzo, Colbert Drgac, Steven Metzer, Craig Newland and Trevor Conant. Honorary Pallbearers are Matthew Malazzo, Chris Scamardo, Cody Meier, Aaron Eike, Rejy Bacchus and Neal Simpson.

Garrett was born June 30, 1993 in Bryan, the son of Dr. Stan J. and Leisa Maliska. Garrett was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He graduated Cum Laude from Bryan High School on Tuesday, February 22, 2011. He was a member of the BHS Varsity Golf Team and The Brazos Valley Young Guns Select Baseball Team. Garrett also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Garrett was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Malazzo, Stanley and Helen Maliska.

Survivors include his parents, Dr. Stan J. and Leisa Maliska; brother, Ryan Maliska and special friend Hailey Hodge; sister, Tara Maliska and special friend Jason Venghaus, of Bryan; grandparents, Ruth and Sandyr Scarmardo of Bryan;uncles, Randy Malazzo & wife Judy of Bryan, Rick Malazzo & wife Sharon of Katy; aunts, Leanne Drgac & husband Jay, Helen Metzer & husband Russell, all of Bryan; cousins, Steven Metzer & wife Shannon, Susan Newland & husband Craig of Bryan, Meredith Simpson & husband Neal of Oceanside, CA, Kiel Malazzo, Travis Malazzo of College Station, Matthew Malazzo of Katy, Colbert Drgac, Erin Drgac, Leisa Drgac, Rejy Bacchus, all of Bryan; and countless extended family and friends.
