

Gladys Landry, 104, passed away at Crestview Retirement Community Friday, November 28, just five days before her 105th birthday. When asked, she credited her longevity to faith that God would work all things out for good allowing her to never get upset about her situation. Her family cannot recall ever seeing her angry.
Gladys was born December 3, 1909 in Brazos County the daughter of George Pickett and Mae (Harris) Edge. She was a lifetime member of the Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Bryan. Her church and faith in God played a very important role in her life. In 1932 she married W.J. Landry in New Iberia, LA. They were happily married for 67 years.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.J. “Frenchy” Landry; and seven brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Diana Landry of Bryan; daughter and son-in-law, Lana and Read Mann of Fairfield; sister, Dorothy Moore; brother, Drummon Edge; grandchildren, Deann Winslager and husband Leslie, Wayne Landry, and Curt Landry and wife Amy; great-grandchildren, Josh Winslager, Jacob Winslager and wife Emily, John Winslager, Lauryn Landry and Cody Landry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday November 30 at Bryan City Cemetery with Rev. Doug Dickey officiating. Viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church, 1228 W Villa Maria Rd, Bryan, TX 77801 or Crestview Benevolence Fund, 2505 E Villa Maria, Bryan, TX 77802.
