

Major (Retired) Harold "Bud" S. Fisher peacefully passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the age of 91 in Bryan, Texas. Bud was born in 1933 in Fowler Indiana to Harold Brooks Fisher and Lydia Marie Stanton Fisher. He was well loved in the community and took pride in serving in many capacities. Bud retired from the military in 1973 after serving 20 years in artillery. He was awarded numerous medals while stationed in Alaska, California, Korea, Germany, and El Paso. While in Fairbanks, Alaska he met the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” Fisher (deceased), on July 6th, 1957, and they married three months later October 19th, 1957. They were happily married for 56 years and had numerous adventures along the way.
After retiring from the Army, Bud graduated in 1980 from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree. He also retired in 1998 after 17 years with the College Station Post Office.
Bud and Pat loved traveling and visited all 50 states in their Airstream, including all the territories in Canada, where they spent 3 days enjoying the polar bears in the Canadian Tundra. They enjoyed numerous cruises, and spent years square dancing and round dancing together where they made lifelong friends and memories.
Bud was a loyal, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He is survived by daughters and son-in-law: Rosemarie and Tom Fisher of New Mexico, Donna (Porter) Fisher of Weatherford, Laura Fisher of Kurten, and son and daughter-in-law, John and Vicki Fisher of Waco. Grandchildren: Paul and Amanda Fisher, Laura, Rebecca, and Jacob Fisher; Jacquelyn and Michael Leewright, Kathryn and William O'Kelley, and Brooks Porter; Hailie and Tyler Matcek; Aaron and Kate Fisher, Jordan and Hayden Roberts, and Benjamin Fisher. Great-grandchildren: Austyn, Aubry, and Adelynn Leewright, Aiden and Abigail O’Kelley, George Roberts, Sadie and Mason Matcek, Bridgid Fisher.
The family would like to thank Carriage Inn, St. Joseph Hospital, Encompass Rehab, The Bryan Manor, The Waterford at College Station, and Enhabit Home Health & Hospice for the excellent care they gave Bud.
A Celebration of Life will be at 11:00 am Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Alexander Cemetery church pavilion.
The family extends much appreciation to Bud’s daughter, Laura, whose dedication, hard work and attentive care enable Dad to live a longer happier life.
