James (Jimmy) Edward O'Connell

A Rosary will be recited 5:30 P.M., Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 16, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 East 26th Street, Bryan, TX 77803. Interment will folow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park.

Jimmy was born June 17, 1951 at Fort Lee Army Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia. He was an engineering surveyor and was employed by Garrett Engineering of Bryan as a Surveying Party Chief.

Jimmy was a very hard worker and loved being a surveyor. His motto was “EXACT IS CLOSE ENOUGH”. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, family and friends. He loved fishing, camping, working on cars, music and adding to his DVD movie collection. He was a very thoughtful, gentle, kind spirited husband, son, brother, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed.

He is preceded in death by his mother Shirley Bolmanski O’Connell.

Survivors include his wife, Susan; his father James “Jim” O’Connell and his wife Sue; two brothers: Cliff O’Connell, Mark O’Connell and his wife Kellie Odom O’Connell; sister Sheryl O’Connell Petroski, her husband Larry and nieces, Aimee and Abby Petroski and many many friends.
