

Jesse Castillo, Jr., 56, also known as “Stump”, passed away Saturday, March 29, 2014 in Bryan. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan. Burial will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.
Jesse was born July 1, 1957 in Cameron, Texas to Marcelina Moncibaiz and Jesse Castillo, Sr. He grew up in Bryan and attended Bryan Public Schools. He worked with his friend Roy Sauceda in the Concrete Business for many years before going to work at Texas A&M, in Landscaping with Grounds and Maintenance.
“Stump” had a true love for his family, friends, and even strangers. Everyone that knew him, knew him as a loyal friend and a jokester with an infectious laugh. He was always willing to help out in any way he could. He always looked forward to spending time with his friends. Most of them were like family to him. There was never a building project to large or too small that he wasn’t willing to take on.
Jesse was a hard worker with strong ethics that he tried to pass on to anyone willing to learn. He loved his dogs, and family gatherings. He loved visiting friends when they would come to Bryan. He loved his daughters and fixing their homes and cars, and he was crazy about his grandson, Christian. He was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church in Bryan.
Jesse is survived by his wife Annette Acosta Castillo of Bryan; two daughters, Amy Castillo and Jessica Castillo both of Bryan; one brother, Domingo Castillo and wife Kathy of Bryan; three sisters Mary Ponce and husband Baltasar of Bryan, Frances Gonzalez and husband Gilberto of Ferris, TX, and Dolores Gonzales of Bryan; one grandson, Christian Kane Martinez; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
