

Jim M. Parrack, Jr., 83, of College Station, born June 12, 1931, in Houston, Texas, to Jim and Dorothy Parrack, went to join his Heavenly Father on Friday, May 8, 2015, after a long illness. Jim married the love of his life, Mildred Maurine Albers, on June 11, 1955, and this June they would have been married sixty years. He graduated from Texas A&M, Class of ’53, and served 27 years in the United States Army. He earned an MBA from UT Austin. He completed two tours in Vietnam, where he was awarded a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart on the first tour, and a Legion of Merit on the second tour. Following retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel, he returned to Texas A&M and served ten years as the Operations Manager for the Department of Oceanography until retiring again. Jim was a thirty-seven-year member of Bethel Lutheran Church.
Jim is survived by his wife Mildred of College Station, by his children Jim Parrack and wife Karan, of Allen, Kevin Parrack and wife Mary Martha, of Madisonville, Suzanne Lipsey and husband Douglas, of The Woodlands, seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, four nieces and nephews, and many other loving relatives and friends. There will be a private family burial, and at 11:00AM, Saturday, May 16th, there will be a memorial service at Bethel Lutheran Church to celebrate Jim’s life, followed by a light lunch.
