The good Lord was greeted with a rousing “laugh and play with double J” on March 3, 2025. John J Krchnak (J.J.) was born October 20, 1938 in Sealy, TX to John and Frances Krchnak, but lived most of his life in Cypress, TX.
J.J. never met a stranger and he had a positive impact on everyone in his life. Whether through his immense generosity, strong desire to help others, or his never-ending one-liners, he was beloved by those around him.
J.J. lived life to the fullest, rarely passing up a chance to go hunting or fishing with the boys. When he didn’t have a reel or gun in his hand, you could find him on the golf course or the occasional hold ‘em table. Around the neighborhood, the kids new him as “all-time QB” during marathon street football sessions. He cherished his time with friends and family, always pouring his big heart into those around him.
He also had a more serious side, he was a hardworking corporate photographer, joining Cameron Iron Works after he left the Army. He took pride in his work and led the photography dept. at the company until he retired. J.J. was loyal and a true man of his word and always strived to “do the right thing.”
J.J. prioritized love and support for his family, he was a loving and caring husband and taught his sons everything he could, helping make them who they are today. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Michaeleen "Micki" Krchnak; his two brothers, Dennis Krchnak and William Krchnak. While we lost “one of the good ones” this week, his legacy will live on through his two sons and wives, Eric and Dusti Krchnak of Dallas and Kyle and Erin Krchnak of Bryan. J.J. received immense joy from seeing his grandchildren (Katy, Kinsey, Emmalyn and Kaden) grow-up, they loved their PawPaw and will miss him greatly.
The family is holding a private burial service on March 10 and will plan a celebration of life for J.J. at a later date. Details will be provided as they become available.
In lieu of flowers, please make donation to Catch-A-Dream Foundation (provides teens with life threatening illness a once-in-a-lifetime hunting or fishing experience) in John (J.J.)
